Since there’s probably no chance I’ll ever get real Snowpiercer toys, these will have to do.

#Spoiler

Not included: baby Edgar and Gilliam’s arm accessories.

#YupIWentThere #Sorry

I missed SNOWPIERCER in theatres, unfortunately, but will pick up this epic film when it comes out as a Blu-Ray, later on this year.

Why is Gamora missing from Guardians of the Galaxy merchandise?

Exit polls indicate 44 percent of GotG’s opening-week audience were women, yet Disney/Marvel still seems unaware or unconvinced that it can profit from this half of their audience. At San Diego Comic-Con last month, women’s T-shirts for Marvel’s upcoming Agent Carter TV series sold out in a day, with the bemused attendants saying that they hadn’t expected this kind of interest. This is after years of fans clamoring for a female-led superhero movie from anyone.

Fans have been asking, well… where’s Gamora?

When companies are so sexist they don’t even want to accept women to make a profit you know society is very fucked up

Yeah except this isn’t true. There’s plenty of merch with Gamora.
She has a figure http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HMVA7903A#.U-OSust0zIU

A bobblehead http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=FU3795#.U-OS5st0zIU

Also custom-printed t-shirts http://www.designbyhumans.com/shop/t-shirt/guardians-of-the-galaxy-gamora/64350/

You can bitch and moan about sexism all you want but don’t fucking lie.

It’s not lying (or bitching and moaning for that matter). Also, you can’t link to a site that is selling unofficial merch and say that it counts as the official sources not leaving out a character. If I went and made 50 Gamora designs, it wouldn’t mean that Marvel had made them, it would mean that I, a fan, had made them. Those action figures you linked are only available in a few select stores, not in every store like everyone else is. I mean look at this shirt; it has five boxes. There are five Guardians. Strangely, they chose not to include Gamora on the entire shirt. Why is that?

She’s not on the display stands either, when they made room for 4 out of 5 guardians. They could have gone with 3 and left out a guy, but they made it work, leaving out the only female member on the team. Why her again?

There’s two sides on this thing and both sides have all 4 Guardians. If it’s a space/size issue, why not have Gamora/Nebula/Ronan/Yondue on the other side? At least she would be included!

Official mugs without Gamora as well:

I mean come on - According to Marvel, the other four members of the Guardians are available at Toys “R” Us online and in stores while Gamora (along with Nebula) will only be available at specialty stores. Seriously. And you think it’s just ‘bitching and moaning’ ? Here are several pictures where it’s clear that Gamora is the only member of the team that is ‘optional’. They aren’t regularly leaving out Drax and swapping it in for Gamora/Rocket/Groot/Peter, or leaving out Groot and Rocket or any other combination. This is not just whining, this is a big deal. Women already have to be happy with just having ONE person of their gender being on a team out of FIVE characters, and you think we’re asking too much for that ONE woman to be included in the merchandise?

Also, that figurine the person linked to, she’s the goddamned chase figure, because of course she is. This means that there is, on average, one Gamora per case with two or three of every other character. We’ve already run out of stock of her at work, and won’t be getting more in until the end of September. I have no doubt that people are going to start scalping her on eBay shortly, because this happens with every female figurine in the Marvel figurines range.

It happened with Sif when the Thor: Dark World figurines came out, it happened with Natasha when the Winter Soldier figurines came out, and it’s bloody well going to happen with Gamora.

So when we get bright-eyed, excited little girls in the store asking for the female character from the amazing movie we saw, I have to tell them that we have none left and let the parents know that we can special-order one from the secondary market, and it’s going to set them back at least a hundred fucking dollars (for the record, we barely make profit on these - we buy them any way and any place we can, and mark them up just enough to cover our asses). And that stinks.

Dear companies that produce movie merch (looking at you, Hasbro),

Please stop short-packing your female action figures.

Thank you.

Cheers,

-AWAF

Hot Toys displayed their GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY action figures (Star-Lord, Rocket, Groot, etc) at San Diego Comic-con this year, and now studio pictures of their 1/6 scale GAMORA figure, modeled on actor Zoë Saldaña, has been released.

The detailing is extrordinary. This is probably one of the more accurate renders in an action figure I’ve seen.

GAMORA is one of my favourite comic book characters. I loved Saldana’s performance in the GUARDIANS movie. This toy, therefore, may become my first HOT TOYS 1/6th scale action figure purchase after all :)

More details on how to purchase this GAMORA action figure to be announced. The BUY page for GAMORA has gone live (on Sideshow Collectibles)

Hot Toys Opens ‘The Dark Knight’ Armory With 1/6 Scale Batman, Bruce Wayne And Alfred Pennyworth
By Caleb Goellner
It’s been more than five years since Christopher Nolan’s second entry in The Dark Knight trilogy seared its definitive take on Batman into a serious amount of cinematic souls, but even after covering its fair share of merchandising ground across all three TDK films, Hot Toys had yet to enter its version of the Batcave. That changes in 2014 as three new 1/6 scale configurations of the movie version of the Batman Armory are set to debut. There’ll be a Batman Armory with a 1/6 scale Batman figure, an Armory with a 1/6 scale Alfred Pennyworth figure, and an Armory with 1/6 scale figures of both Alfred and Bruce Wayne. The coolest thing about these sets, however, is that they ALL come with the pieces needed to construct a 1/6 scale Batman or any combination of Batsuit/Bruce/Alfred parts. I think every toy fan is ready to see The Dark Pennyworth Rise from the comfort of their own shelf.
